Screen Prototyping
Posted by Simon Judge, Freelance Mobile Developer in Android, UI on April 24th, 2009
If you are a hobby developer you probably just sketch screen designs on scraps of paper or even develop them interactively while you program. However, if like me, you design/code for a living, you need more professional screen designs to show customers.
I tend to cut parts of controls from screenshots of my own and others’ applications to create prototype screens. Yesterday evening I came across ArtfulBits Android GUI prototyping. You may need to be patient if you go to their site as their web pages load really slowly for some reason. You can download a free stencil for Visio that allows you to build up example Android screens.
