Reto Meier, author of Professional Android Application Development has announced a new version of his book, Android 2 Application Development. It’s already available as an e-book and the code listing and example projects have just become available.

Looking at the table of contents, it’s clear it’s a re-work of the original book to accompany the latest 2.01 and 2.1 SDK releases rather than a follow-on ‘advanced’ book. Nevertheless, it’s an essential purchase if you starting Android development.

The source code examples for the book ‘Unlocking Android’ is available online. The examples cover UI, intents, services, storing and retrieving data, networking, telephony, notifications, graphics, multimedia, location based services and native (c) coding.
