Koji Hisano is developing an open source pure Java Dalvik JVM as part of his work at eflow Inc. As eflow Inc is partly consisted of Esmertec Japan and Esmertec is a Java ME JVM expert (and part of the OHA), I expect the results of Koji Hisano’s efforts to be interesting.

If my understanding is correct, a pure JAVA Dalvik implementation would allow the JVM to run on operating systems other than Android. i.e. On the desktop, on a server or within a web browser.

This ties in with a previous post of mine asking if Dalvik is the new Java.
